Duration of Hire
The hire period is normally 72 hours. However, if you require an extension to this time, we are happy to arrange, at an additional cost.
Delivery and Collection
“Vintage Daydreams” offers free delivery and collection within a 12 mile radius of home base. We are happy to travel further afield at a cost of £0.50p per mile, per round trip. Tolls and Congestion charges may also apply.
Minimum order for delivery is £50. No order is too small. Orders under £50, will be hired on a collection only basis.
Our vintage crockery, tableware and glassware should be re-packed and ready for collection at the agreed time. Unless dirty, all items should be re-packed in their original packaging please. Please return all other original packaging. If packaging is not returned, a replacement cost may be charged. WE OFFER A FREE WASHING UP SERVICE. For dirty items, we ask that the items are carefully wiped/scraped and that cups, sugar bowls, jam and butter ramekins, jugs and teapots/coffee pots are thoroughly emptied.
A signature is required from the Hirer(s) please, upon delivery and a delivery note will be provided so that you can check all the items that you have hired. When items are checked, we will also sign the delivery note. If no one is available to sign for the receipt of the goods, then this will be at the hirer(s) own risk. The delivery will be deemed as being delivered in a clean and undamaged condition. If deliveries are to be left at premises that are unattended, then this too will be at the hirer(s) risk. Please allow time to carry out an inventory check with us, upon our return collection.
Please be aware that two people are required to lift the crates, as our collections can be heavy when boxed.
Condition of Goods
As the majority of our pieces are genuinely vintage, they may show signs of wear on gilding and pattern. This adds to their appeal and is natural for items of this age. This is also the reason why we hand wash the items ourselves. Vintage items are fragile and much more easily prone to damage. Please can we kindly request that extra care is taken, when handling, stacking and packing the items.
Payment
To secure your order with “Vintage Daydreams", we require 50% of the total order as a non-refundable deposit. Please can we ask that the remaining balance is paid 28 days prior to the wedding or event, along with the refundable breakage deposit.
If payment is not made in accordance with these terms, we reserve the right not to supply.
Amendments to orders can be made 7 days prior to collection or delivery, subject to item availability. Extra charges will apply and will be charged at the per item cost, on our price list.
Breakage of items
The hirer(s) are responsible for the care and safe keeping of all our pieces, for the duration of the agreed hire period. Accidental damage can happen, please let us know upon collection, of any known loss or damage that may have occurred during the hire period.
A refundable breakage deposit of £100 or 50% of the order total (whichever is greater) is required 28 days prior to the wedding or event. We will notify the Hirer(s) of any breakage/damage costs and return the breakage deposit with these deducted within 7 days after the wedding or event.
Cancellation
Under the current climate there is free Covid-19 cancellation if government restrictions apply during the date of your event.
In normal circumstances, if for any reason, your order with us needs to be cancelled, you must inform us in writing please. The following charges apply:
29 days or more: no charge for the remainder balance of total order
28 days or less: 100% of the remainder balance of total order.
Responsibility
Once signed for, our vintage crockery, tableware, linens, cutlery and glassware and table decorations, become the responsibility of the Hirer(s). Anything left unattended is at the Hirer(s) own risk and they are responsible for any lost, soiled or damaged items.
“Vintage Daydreams” accepts no responsibility for any damage or injury to property or persons through breakage of our equipment, during the agreed hire period.
At all times during the agreed hire period, all items remain the property of “Vintage Daydreams”.
